New Oregon Speedcut Nano System bars are new from Oregon and is Husqvarna/Oregon’s answer to Stihl’s 1/4 .043 chain. Would it have been easier and simpler for customers to understand the chain if they had done a 1/4 .043 version that people already knew and understood? Yes – but then they would not have a unique selling point hence they have brought out .325 .043!

Will it cut as thin as 1/4 .043? No… close but not as thin a kerf.

Will it be a stronger set up than 1/4 .043? Yes – slightly thicker bar and sturdier chain.

Will it last longer and be easier to sharpen than 1/4 .043? Prob yes on both counts.

Features an aluminium core, light weight and designed to run the Oregon 95TXL chain.

Oregon Speed Cut Nano 1/4 .043[1.1mm]

Having used the new speed cut bar, chain and drive sprocket kit for a few weeks since belying from Rob and I can say that his advice was really good. I’ve used 3/8 as standard on the echo 360 top handle and always been wanting more chain speed in the cut through hard woods and hard dead material. The saw doesn’t quite have the power of a 540 or the 201. I went to 1/4 pitch on a 14 inch bar but with all the care in the world, the saw was just too powerful and splayed the top end at the sprocket.
So Rob said to try the Oregon Speed Cut Nano. The width of the cut is more 3/8 lo pro width but not quite as wide it feels but much wider than a 1/4 pitch bar and chain leaves behind. The absolute surprise though is that the chain speed is very similar to that of the 1/4 pitch chain, with the solid feel of the thicker 3/8 lo pro setup, flies through dead Oak etc to the point at which now I wouldn’t bother going down the 1/4 pitch routes, always look to using the Nano setup first. Cool colours which match up with my echo 360 too. Absolutely brilliant.
